2020 Annual Meeting

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Rayle EMC will not hold an in-person annual meeting this year. Rayle EMC will hold registration and voting between June 1-5 and June 8-12 at each of its Rayle EMC district offices. Before registering and voting, Rayle EMC encourages our members to carefully review the items detailed in the Annual Meeting Report which can be found in the June 2020 edition of Georgia Magazine and online here. The newsletter contains various reports on the financial condition of the Cooperative, an executive report, growth statistics, as well as the nominating committee report.

The primary purposes of the annual meeting are the election of directors, presentation of reports, and the transaction of business. Whether we meet in person or not, the objective is to ensure that the members of Rayle EMC are informed and retain their voice in the governance of the Cooperative.

The nominating committee met by teleconference on Thursday, April 16 and nominated Linton Scott, Herbert Powell, Jackie Copelan and Maurice Mathews to serve in their respective districts for another three-year term. There were no nominations by petition. Details of the director election can be found in the Annual Meeting Report.

When you go to any one of our offices to register you will be given a Voter Registration Card and Official Ballot to complete and return. You or your spouse must register your account, no one will be able to register and vote for you. For all of those who complete and return the Voter Registration Card and Official Ballot by 5:00 p.m. June 12, 2020, not only will you be exercising your rights as a member-owner of Rayle EMC, you will also be entered into a drawing to win a $50 credit on your power bill. Fifty lucky members will be selected at random. The winners will be posted on the Rayle EMC website. Any ballot received after 5:00 p.m. June 12, 2020 will not be counted.

Results of the Director Election and Approval of the Minutes of the 2019 Annual Meeting will be included in the Cooperative’s August edition of Georgia Magazine as well as posted on the website.

While we much prefer the traditional in-person meeting, conducting the meeting in this way will ensure that you, the members are informed and allows you the opportunity to vote on the issues before the cooperative. We appreciate your patience as we adapt to the current conditions of a world affected by COVID-19. Our priority is the health and well-being of our members, employees and the communities we serve.
